StarCraft II clans and groups

Clans & Groups, next to +: every clan and group your character is in, with your rank, the member count and its description. Press + on one to list its members by name and rank; members who come online, join a game or change rank update as it happens.
Clan chat opens as a channel tab, as it does in the game; Open Chat does the same for a group.
Names show as StarCraft II shows them: <TAG> Name, with the clan tag a little smaller and no #123 code. In the Full user list, each person's BattleTag sits underneath.

StarCraft: Remastered

Stats: /stats Name, or right-click someone and choose Stats. You get wins and losses (overall, ranked and classic), games played, play time, APM and when the character was made.
Check if Online (right-click): someone listed in the channel who isn't really logged on (a login stuck by a server reset) is hidden from the user list. Typing /whois does the same.
The user list's right-click menu works again: right-clicking a person selects them first.

Chat

Message length limits, with a counter in the send box: 255 characters for StarCraft II, 223 for classic Battle.net and StarCraft: Remastered. Longer text is cut at the limit.
StarCraft II doesn't send unknown /commands as chat any more. Start a line with // to send one that begins with /.
A new channel tab starts with "Entered channel.", instead of a blank log.

Fixed

Single-file downloads always ship the flattened file object. The server sent a bare data fork unless the Heidrun-only resourceForkSupport flag was negotiated, so classic clients (and Heidrun ≤ 1.4 against classic servers) misread downloads. Fresh downloads, resumes (data-fork remainder + full resource fork) and large files now all frame per the Hotline spec; the flag is a no-op.

Hotline Navigator v0.3.0

This release fills in a substantial part of Navigator’s Hotline protocol support: interrupted transfers can resume, entire folders can be transferred, modern trackers are supported, and compatible servers can display custom GIF avatars.

Text handling also gets a deeper cleanup. Navigator now negotiates UTF-8 consistently across live chat, history, news, and file names, while keeping MacRoman compatibility with classic servers. Private conversations gain media attachments, file sizes and dates are handled more accurately, and saved passwords move into encrypted storage.

New Features

Resumable file transfers — Interrupted downloads retain partial data and can resume when the remote file still matches. Uploads support classic resume offsets and modern partial-file verification, restarting when a safe resume is unavailable.
Folder transfers — Download folders from the file browser or use Upload Folder on desktop. Nested and empty folders are supported, with checks that keep received paths inside the destination folder.
Modern trackers and server discovery — Trackers support v1, v2, and v3, including authenticated listings and optional certificate-validated TLS. Server bookmark information can display advertised ports, transports, and features.
Custom GIF avatars — Set or clear an avatar on compatible servers. Avatars appear in user lists, user details, and grouped chat, with classic icons as a fallback.

First stable release of the Heidrun Hotline protocol package.

Ships HeidrunCore (wire types + Network.framework client), HeidrunNIOClient (cross-platform SwiftNIO client), and the heidrun CLI.

Capabilities negotiated via DATA_CAPABILITIES (0x01F0):

Large-file transfers (>4 GiB) — 64-bit sizes, 24-byte HTXF handshake, 64-bit FFO fork headers; single-file and folder.
UTF-8 text encoding — opt-in UTF-8 for all strings (chat, names, news, …); macOS Roman otherwise.

Plus Heidrun extensions (0xE000 band): emoji avatars, resource-fork framed downloads. Self-signed TLS, tracker registration/listing, news, file transfers.

The wire format is additive and backward-compatible: every extension degrades gracefully against peers that don't negotiate it. See docs/PROTOCOL-EXTENSIONS.md.

A standalone Hotline chatterbot built on the 1998 MegaHAL Markov engine (© Jason Hutchens, GPL-2.0). Swift revival of the 2002 Heidrun's Spirit plug-in — connects to any Hotline server, replies to chat, learns as it reads, persists its brain across restarts.

Cross-platform via heidrun-protocol's HeidrunNIOClient: runs on macOS (launchd) and Linux (Docker).

See README.md for configuration. deploy/ ships a LaunchDaemon plist; Dockerfile + docker-compose.yml cover the Linux path.

Lemoniscate v0.1.7 Release Notes

Persistent chat history. Your server now remembers what was said while clients were offline, and modern clients can page back through it. Storage is JSONL-based with no database dependency -- it works on Tiger PPC the same as modern macOS and Linux.

As writing this the only server that has chat history is Apple Media Archive as it's the only hotline server I run but hopefully you'll be the next!

This pairs well with the HOPE AEAD encryption from 0.1.6: if you have an encryption key configured, message bodies are encrypted at rest using ChaCha20-Poly1305 while metadata stays plaintext so the index and startup scan still work.

Chat History

Server-side chat persistence using append-only JSONL files under <FileRoot>/ChatHistory/. One file per channel (channel-0.jsonl for public chat, channel-N.jsonl for private chat rooms). No database, no external dependencies.
Cursor-based pagination via TranGetChatHistory (transaction 700). Clients query with before/after cursors and a limit parameter. The server returns matching entries plus a has_more flag for paging. Queries are O(log n) via an in-memory binary-search index built at startup.
Capability negotiation at login. The server advertises HL_CAPABILITY_CHAT_HISTORY (bit 4) so clients know history is available. Navigator v0.2.5+ renders the backlog automatically.

The major feature in this release is the addition of a REST API for getting registered server information. The REST API supports TLS and authentication through a bearer token. As the same with the rest of the application, it is controlled through a set of configuration files. The REST API is disabled by default.

Additional changes include library upgrades to address security issues as well as bump up to Go 1.25.5.
